We met just over 3 years ago on a rainy Thursday evening at Charing Cross station in London. Floris suggested going for a walk and so we did! With the first walk ending up at Battersea Power Station (Floris thought we were going the other way), he admits to pretending this was the destination all along. Along the way Floris lost our umbrella and we were soaked but we kept walking! Ever since, Battersea Power Station has held a very special place in our hearts.
We have travelled everywhere from Italy to France, Portugal to Spain, Germany to Ukraine, Bulgaria to Belgium, and Vienna too! We have lived all over London, from Maida Vale to West Ken, Knightsbridge to Surrey and now Old Street. Changes of scenery are what keep us young!
We got engaged on August 23rd, 2015 in Catania, Sicily – precisely 2 years after having first met on that rainy London evening. We had organised a trip to Sicily beforehand, a place we had visited previously and fell in love with. Floris proposed by the Catania harbour at 10pm that evening (at a place which we later found out to be a dedicated Military Zone – off limits to the public). We travelled by bus from Catania to Naples, then to Rome, Florence and ended our trip in the lovely Venice.
Exactly one year on we are now expecting our little girl to arrive any day (due date August 31st) and are getting ready to start our family!
